What we store

We store the email and name on your account, your profile settings (home currency, language, time zone, reminder choices), and everything you type in: accounts, payment modes, categories, entries, holdings, loans, groups, recurring items, budgets and reminder mutes. If you record an IOU or add someone to a group, the name of that person is stored too, and it is included in your download and removed when you delete your account. We also keep sign in records: each one holds an IP address and device text from the browser.

When you join a group through an invite link, the other members of that group can see your name as it appears in the group, the spends you are part of, and what you paid. The owner of the group also sees the account name you send with your request. When you leave, your share of past spends stays in your own records and the group keeps your name as a plain spot. If the owner deletes their account, the group goes to the member who joined first. A group that nobody else joined is deleted with the account.

Why we store it

We store it only to run the app for you: to sign you in, show your money, and send the reminder emails you switch on. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising. The owner can see how the app is used: counts and dates per anonymous account id (for example how many entries you saved on a day, and which features you have used), never amounts, titles, names or your email. These counts are read live and go away when you delete your account.

Who handles it for us

Neon stores the database. Vercel hosts the app. Resend sends email. Sentry receives error reports. They never contain amounts, titles, your email or your name. Each report carries only a random account id, and Sentry keeps reports for [number of days to be confirmed before launch] days.

Deleted entries

When you delete an entry, it is hidden in your account but kept until you delete the whole account. Deleting the account removes your data for good. Copies can stay in database history for [number of days to be confirmed before launch] days after that, then they are gone.

Cookies

We set one session cookie so you stay signed in. We use no tracking cookies and no advertising cookies.

Your rights

You can see and correct your details on the Profile page. You can download everything we store in one JSON file, and you can delete your account at any time. Both are on the Privacy and data page inside the app. For anything the app does not cover, contact us and we will answer within one month.

Changes

If we change this policy, we change the date at the top. For a change that matters, we will also tell you by email or inside the app.
